| Thursday 7th June to Saturday 9th June | “Still, Small Voice” a play by Danusia Iwaszko Margaret Kemp fought in the 1950s to keep open the Meeting House in Bury St Edmunds. Convinced that it and Quakerism would be needed for the future, she staged a virtual sit-in, sometimes under an umbrella when the rain came in through the holes in the roof. Danusia has written this play, which will be performed for the first time by the HAL Company in the Meeting House that inspired her, and has worked closely with local Quakers in the production of this exciting drama. The play will be staged at the Quaker Meeting House, St John's Street, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 1SJ on Thursday 7th, Friday. 8th and Saturday 9th June at 7.30 pm (and 2.30 pm Saturday.) The cost is £10.00 (£8.00 concessions) and tickets are available from the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Box Office at www.theatreroyal.org |
| Saturday 9th June | Quaker Life Network: Conflict in Meetings day We hope to expand the group of Friends based across the Yearly Meeting that are available to work with meetings experiencing conflict issues that require help from outside their own meeting. This day will not be to offer support or advice to Friends on specific issues relating to their meeting. However, we would very much like to invite all Friends who have an interest in and experience of dealing with conflict to attend this day. | Saturday 9th June | Garden Open Afternoon for Congo Action 79 Upper Fant Road, 2.30 to 5 pm. There will be tea and cake, a plant stall, and Congolese crafts for sale. Congo Action direct their funds through trusted local contacts to improve the lot of villagers in Kivu province, particularly by improving school buildings and paying for teachers. |

A Collaboration between Quaker Life and Woodbrooke Explore questions about the future of Friends in Britain at this weekend event on Friday 27 - Sunday 29 July 2012. We will look at the challenges and opportunities facing Quakers today, and what it will take to renew the Society of Friends for the 21st century and beyond. | Friday 10th August to Sunday 12th August | Politically Engaged Young Friends conference For Friends aged 18-40 will be held at Westminster Friends Meeting House Arranged by Young Friends General Meeting with generous support from the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, this is a chance for Quakers interested politics to discuss issues including equality, protest, environment, and foreign policy.
